In addition to basic Open Water certification, Divers Two offers the full range of PADI advanced-level qualifications, including:

  • Advanced Open Water Diver -- This course allows you to gain confidence in your diving while exploring different underwater environments, all under the supervision our qualified staff. All that is required for the advanced certification is 5 dives!

  • Rescue Diver -- An AOW diver will perfect the tired-diver tow, fireman's lift, stress recognition, rescue breathing, and other emergency dive procedures in this exciting and enlightening course. CPR and first-aid training (also available from D2) and 25 logged dives are prerequisites of this program.

  • Master Scuba Diver -- As an advanced diver with rescue certification, five specialities, and at least 50 dives' experience, you will be ready to reach the highest level of recreational SCUBA diving with this course. Find the application in Resources.

These courses are open to divers and non-divers alike. They are a "must course" for the diving professional and great for all sport divers.

JERSEY SHORE DIVER SPECIALTY

A new PADI course written by D2 instructor Craig Beattie and offered only at D2, this class introduces the diver to beach and inlet diving here on the Jersey Shore. Discover the wonderful local beach wrecks and dive some of our inlets as well! Learn the techniques of entry/exit, assessing conditions, navigating to find those beach wrecks and more! Shore diving is cost effective and flexible! Simply "grab a friend and go!"

DELAYED SURFACE MARKER BUOY SPECIALTY

Most divers wouldn’t think of diving without carrying a delayed surface marker buoy (DSMB), and in some locations it’s considered required safety equipment. Knowing how to properly deploy and manage a DSMB are valuable skills learned in this course. We’ll also cover reels, shooting lift bags and running lines, Whether you’re a novice or advanced diver; tropics or the North Atlantic, these are skills you should know and master!

DRYSUIT SPECIALTY

Unlike wetsuits, drysuits are filled with air. During your drysuit course, your instructor will teach you how to control the air in your drysuit along with your buoyancy.

ENRICHED AIR NITROX SPECIALTY

Enriched air, also known as nitrox or EANx, contains less nitrogen than regular air. Breathing less nitrogen means you can enjoy longer dives and shorter surface intervals. No wonder Enriched Air Diver is the most popular specialty.

FULL FACE MASK SPECIALTY

Working divers, such as public safety divers, use full face masks because they protect the eyes and nose from contaminants in the water, provide comfort in cold water, and allow for communication. If you're interested public safety diving, scientific diving, or venturing into extremely cold-water, then learning to dive with a full face mask is definitely for you. Because full face masks allow you to breathe from your nose, they are also beneficial for those who have difficulty using standard scuba masks.

RESCUE DIVER

Learn how to prevent and handle diving emergencies that may occur at a dive site or during a dive. This is a pivotal course for anyone who wants to continue their diver training and become a PADI Professional such as a Dive Master or an Instructor, or obtain the Master SCUBA Diver rating. Be a more prepared, safer diver able to better foresee and handle diver emergencies.

DEEP DIVER SPECIALTY

Although exhilarating, deep diving does require some special considerations. In this course you’ll learn how to handle the descents, ascents, stops and limitations that increased depth imposes; techniques for diving in the deeper range of 60-130 feet; deep diving equipment considerations; experience in planning, organizing and making at least four deep dives.

Get some exposure to the "night shift!" Dive environments change dramatically at night and once again, our final dive will be a "reverse night dive," where we enter the water pre-dawn and experience sunrise underwater. Craig calls it the "Vampire Dive," we have to be underwater before the sun comes up!

HISTORIC WRECK DIVER SPECIALTY

A PADI course written by D2 instructor Craig Beattie, this class is a unique hybrid; part history class, part field trip to the New Jersey Historical Divers Assoc. museum, part wreck diver class. We examine the rich NJ maritime history, specific notable wrecks—the events of their sinking and the people who sailed them. Then, we go dive where it all happened!

SOLO DIVER SPECIALTY

Although diving with a buddy is the norm, there are reasons for an experienced diver to develop self-reliance and independence while diving. Learning to carry out dives without a partner can make you a stronger diver in most situations. If you have the mental discipline and commitment to learn and follow self-reliant diving techniques, you'll bolster your skills and confidence when diving alone, in a dive pair or as part of a team.
